Business Chamber Queensland's Pulse Survey has been running for more than 30 years, offering unparalleled insight into Queensland business sentiment, conditions and expectations, and directly reflecting the voice of Queensland businesses.
In the December quarter, businesses reported a second consecutive drop in confidence as sustained inflationary pressures and poor operating conditions continued to impact bottom lines.
Alongside a drop in confidence, general business conditions, profits, investments and employment also declined amid widespread concern about cost of living, skilled labour shortages and interest rates.
Download the report to see what businesses in your region said and read the media release.

Confidence in the future of the state’s economy decreased for the second consecutive quarter, but remains higher than this time last year and above the 10-year average.

Inflation and cost of living are expected to reduce consumer spending and household disposable income. Pressure is making customers cautious, leading to reduced demand for business.

Retaining and recruiting suitably qualified employees, direct wage costs, and the level of federal government taxes and charges were the top three constraints on business growth.

Anthony shared what it truly means to be a young business owner in our community, the challenges, the wins, and why having the right people in your corner makes all the difference.
We are so proud to have Anthony championing the next generation of local business owners through the Pumicestone Chamber of Commerce — and even prouder to see him using his platform to inspire others.
